Xiaomi’s next flagship smartphone, the Mi Mix 4, was just unveiled in China. However, it appears that the firm is having difficulty keeping up with demand. The supply of Mi Mix 4 will be limited due to a silicon shortage, according to Lu Weibing, Xiaomi’s President and GM Redmi.
The restricted availability of Snapdragon 888 Plus chipsets and the poor yield rate of ceramic material, he explained, were the two primary causes for the Mi Mix 4’s low stock. Ceramic material is 5 to 6 times more expensive to manufacture than ordinary glass, and carving off a piece of ceramic glass is considerably more difficult.
Preorders for the first batch were completely sold out, while presales for Mi Home were likewise completely sold out. Weibing also expressed regret to the fans, stating that supplies for the August 16th sale will be limited.
