Xiaomi confirms revamped dark mode in MIUI 12


Xiaomi has now released the launch of its next-gen of the user-interface, the MIUI 12, at the launch event of the Mi 10 Youth Edition.

The company has revealed that Xiaomi Mi 10 Pro, Mi 10, Mi 10 Youth Edition, Mi 9 Pro, Redmi K30 Pro, Redmi K30, Redmi K20 Pro, and Redmi K20 will be among the first to get the latest MIUI 12. The second batch of devices includes Mi Mix 3, Mi 8 series, Redmi Note 8 Pro, Redmi Note 7 and Note 7 Pro. The third batch includes Mi Mix 2, Redmi 8, Redmi 8A, Redmi 7A, Redmi 7, Mi CC9, CC9 Pro, and CC9e. The company will roll out the stable version of MIUI 12 by the end of June 2020.

The latest MIUI 10 brings Dark Mode 2.0, which will also bring wallpaper dimming on the Mi smartphones. With this feature, the MIUI 12 will gradually dim the wallpaper as daylight changes.

The UI will automatically adjust the weight and boldness of the front, and it has adjusted font contrast for the dark mode. The company has also revealed new Sensory Visual Design with the MIUI 12, and it will transform the Settings page with visual and graphs diagrams, which the company claims will make it easier to understand.

The brand has also added some of the new system animations where it will show a smooth transition between horizontal and vertical screen rotation. The app icons will also show real-time animations based on the gestures. MIUI 12 also brings new gestures to the phone. Users will be able to swipe down on the notifications to interact with a notification without opening the app. The notification will expand into a small window, and one can drag it around the screen. The roll out of the new feature will soon be into the phone via OTA.
