The Mi 8 smartphone has been launched at Xiaomi’s annual product launch event which was held in China. It is Xiaomi’s latest flagship smartphone and, expectedly, comes with some of the premium specifications and features.
Xiaomi Mi 8 price, release date
The Mi 8 price has been set at CNY 2,699 which is roughly Rs. 28,600 in Indian currency for the 6GB RAM/ 64GB inbuilt storage variant, CNY 2,999 which is roughly about Rs. 31,600 in Indian currency for the 6GB RAM/ 128GB storage variant, and CNY 3,299 which is roughly Rs. 34,800 in Indian currency for the 6GB RAM/ 256GB inbuilt storage model. The smartphone will be made available in four color variant of White, Gold, Light Blue, and Black.
Operating System and Display
The smartphone runs on the MI User Interface 10, and smartphone sports a display of 6.21-inch full-High Definition+ (1080×2248 pixels) Samsung AMOLED display with an aspect ratio of 18.7:9 aspect ratio, 88.5 percent screen-to-body ratio, and support for Always On display.
Processor
The smartphone is powered and supported by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 SoC with a claimed AnTuTu benchmark score of 301,472. The smartphone has also comes up with 6GB/ 8GB of LPDDR4X RAM, with 8GB RAM exclusive to the Explorer Edition.
Camera department
On the optics department, the smartphone bears a dual camera setup which support with two 12-megapixel sensors, video detection, AI detection, 1.4-micron pixels, 4-axis OIS, dual pixel autofocus, and AI portraits. Xiaomi claims a DxOMark photo score of 105 as well which is a latest technology in the smartphone. With respect to the selfie department, the smartphone is equipped with a 20-megapixel selfie camera with f/2.0 aperture, 1.8-micron pixels, AI portrait selfies, and beautification mode as well.
Storage
With respect to storage department the phone gets three version of 4GB/ 128GB/ 256GB of inbuilt onboard storage.
Connectivity options
The smartphone has also some of the connectivity options which include Wifi, 4G VoLTE, Bluetooth 5.0, NFC, dual-band GPS (with L1/ L5 signal support, said to be the world’s first phone with this feature), and USB Type-C.
Battery
The smartphone bears a battery capacity of 3000mAh which is non removable one with support for quick charge 4.0+, but ship with a standard 18W Quick Charge 3.0 charger.
