Chipset maker, MediaTek stands as the main competitor Qualcomm with its new chip & now MediaTek will launch Dimensity 900, a competitor to the latest Qualcomm Snapdragon 768G.
The MT6877 is the part number for a new processor from MediaTek that will be available soon. AnTuTu has been used to benchmark the chipset, which is officially known as the Dimensity 900, and it gives us an indication of what to expect in terms of results.
A test system operated by the chipset scored about 480,000 points in the benchmark test, according to Digital Chat Station. On the same benchmark platform, it outperforms the Dimensity 820 and Snapdragon 768G, all of which have a score of about 440,000.
MediaTek Dimensity 900 – Expected Specifications
The Dimensity 900 is scheduled to make its debut in an OPPO handset called the OPPO PEQMOO. The handset has a 6.43-inch FHD+ OLED display with a 90Hz refresh rate and a punch hole in the top left corner, according to reports.
The phone also has a 32MP front-facing camera, a 64MP rear-facing camera, 12GB of RAM, 256GB of data, and a 4400mAh battery with 65W fast charging support.
MediaTek Dimensity 900 – Expected Pricing
According to the leaker, the phone would cost about $2500 ($389) at launch, which is very costly given that phones powered by the more powerful Dimensity 1200 are similarly priced. The Redmi K40 Gaming Edition, for example, costs $2399 ($373) with 12GB RAM and 128GB storage.
