HBO’s hacking story continues as their both Facebook and Twitter account was hacked due to flaws in Cyber Security. HBO is a popular TV network which is mostly very famous for streaming Game Of Thrones Series.
Previously, we saw that their website was hacked and all the Episodes of Game Of Thrones and some other series scripts were stolen. The hackers even Leaked the Scripts Online before the Air of the Episodes.
This time the news is bit different, Hacked now have hacked and gained access to HBO’s Twitter and Facebook account where in twitter they Twitted something about them and how you can contact them.
The tweet was something like this “Hi, OurMine are here, we are just testing your security, HBO team please contact us to upgrade the security – ourmine .org -> Contact,” read a message on both social platforms. The group followed it up with posts that read, “let’s make #HBOHacked trending!”
Twitter and Facebook pages for both HBO’s company accounts, as well as its programs, including Game of Thrones, Veep, Last Week Tonight with John Oliver, Silicon Valley, Ballers, and more, were affected. The Script of Game Of Thrones were Misused and HBO managed to delete the offensive tweets after the Hackers have posted.
Those Of you are unaware that Ourmine is the same group of hackers from Saudi Arabia that previously compromised social media accounts of major companies CEOs, including Twitter CEO Jack Dorsey, Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg, Google CEO Sundar Pichai, and Facebook-owned virtual reality company Oculus CEO Brendan Iribe.
A few Days Back HBO Spain Aired the Game of Thrones Season 7 Episode 6 “Death Is the Enemy” five days before its official release, which is 20th August. Although, it was later retracted from online, but not before it was copied and circulated on several file-sharing platforms.
The popular entertaining company is also facing a threat from hacker or group of hackers who claimed to have obtained nearly 1.5 terabytes of information from HBO. The Hackers Demanded a $6 Million in Bitcoins for not airing the show or leaking out the script, HBO offered $250,000, the proposal apparently failed to satisfy hackers, and they threatened to release more data every Sunday until the full ransom was paid.
Further, four employees of Star India that runs entertainment and sports channels, were arrested in India on Wednesday in connection to illegally releasing of Game of Thrones Episode 4 “Spoils of War” online.
