Ubisoft, the makers of the Far Cry franchise, stated that the Far Cry 6 and Rainbow Six Quarantine videogames, which were originally slated to release in February 2021, have been postponed owing to the Coronavirus-led pandemic.
Later, the supposed release date of the game was leaked on the Microsoft Store. According to sources, Ubisoft has already confirmed the official release date for the much-anticipated Far Cry 6.
Far Cry 6 To Be Released On October 7th Officially

Ubisoft developers convened on Reddit for an AMA (Ask Me Anything) session, where they addressed questions from fans. During the discussion, the creators revealed some fascinating details about their future Far Cry title, such as the game’s release date. So, Far Cry 6 will be available on October 7. Some of the gaming aspects, however, will not be available at launch.
Far Cry has always been about guerrilla fantasies and taking control of a territory through the fall of fascist rulers. This section has the same essence as the previous one, but a lot of it is fresh new.
One such example is that two of the most popular features, the map editor and the arcade mode, will not be offered this time. Alexandra Letendre, the title’s Game Director, noted that cutting them off was not an easy decision. At the same time, this allowed them to concentrate on the primary campaign, giving the player a realistic sense of being in the midst of the guerilla revolt.
Another omission that may irritate fans is the absence of the character Hurk Drubman Jr, who has appeared in every Far Cry titles since Far Cry 3. The developers believe that this figure did not fit into the environment of the mythical island Yara and that they should have focused on individuals from this location.
Takedowns will be back in FC 6, but with improved and refined animations. Animal friends, speaking about things that have returned, have also made a comeback. Guapo, a man-eating alligator, and Chorizo, a little dog that may distract adversaries during stealth runs, were both spotted in the official gameplay clip. You may see the video down below. However, to avoid looking at the countdown counter, jump to 29:47.
Other new elements include tale progression options. Unlike the previous instalments, the game will not be totally played in first person. When Dani Rojas (the main playable character) reaches insurgent camps, the game will switch to third-person perspective.
Far Cry 6 will, as previously said, be released on October 7, unless it is postponed again. It will be accessible on PC, PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, Google Stadia, and Amazon Luna.
