In order to impart confidence to the Essential Phone buyers, Andy Rubin has also written a post on the blog where he has announced that the new smartphone will get guaranteed Android Operating system updates for around 2 years and will get monthly security updates for more and around 3 years. This brings the Essential Phone at par with Google Pixel in terms of support or the software and also ensures that the handset remains secure and is updated with all the latest updated features.

Essential Phone runs on the Android version 7.1.1 Nougat out of the box and also sports a 5.7-inch edge-to-edge Quad High Definition (1312×2560 pixels) display with unique 19:10 aspect ratio and also comes with the protection of Corning Gorilla Glass 5.
It is powered and supported by the 64-bit Snapdragon 835 octa-core (2.45GHz quad + 1.9GHz quad) processor with Adreno 540 GPU and 4GB RAM. The phone also comes with the internal storage option of around 128GB.
