Apple seeds first betas of iOS 14.7, iPadOS 14.7, macOS 11.5, watchOS 7.6, tvOS 14.7 | AppleInsider

Apple on Wednesday seeded the first beta versions of iOS 14.7, iPadOS 14.7, tvOS 14.7, watchOS 7.6, and macOS 11.5 to registered developers for testing.

The latest builds of each operating system can be acquired from the Apple Developer Center for devices enrolled within the testing program, as well as via an over-the-air update on hardware already using beta software. Public beta builds typically arrive shortly after the developer counterparts, as part of the Apple Beta Software Program.

It is currently unclear what changes or new additions are included in the latest betas, but it’s likely that the point releases will be focused on under-the-hood changes and bug fixes, with few user-facing features.

The newest round of betas come ahead of the public release of iOS 14.6, iPadOS 14.6, tvOS 14.6, watchOS 7.5, and macOS Big Sur 11.4. Apple seeded the release candidate versions of those software updates to developers on Monday.

AppleInsider, and Apple itself, strongly suggest users avoid installing betas on to “mission-critical” or primary devices, due to the potential for data loss or other issues. It is instead recommended to install betas onto secondary or non-essential devices, and to ensure there are sufficient backups of important data beforehand.
