Apple has slammed the demand for the phone, after the flood of reservations that began six days ago. The estimated delivery time has already jumped from 2-3 weeks to 5-6 weeks, and rumors of its limited supply continue to swirl.
Even with the high demand, it remains difficult for many loyal customers to justify the price tag of 1159 euros, especially when there is a perfect iPhone 8 available for significantly less money. While there is a lot of enthusiasm for the iPhone X, the real data shows that sales could be significantly lower than expected.

Is it worth the additional cost? We have prepared this post in which you can take a look why you are paying that money.
The screen
The iPhone X is the only model that Apple has called a “Super Retina” screen. 458 pixels per inch (PPI), this screen has the highest pixel density seen on an iPhone. Dwarfs iPhone 8 and iPhone 8 Plus, which have 326 PPI and 401 ppi, respectively.
While the iPhone X is smaller than the iPhone 8 Plus, its edge-to-edge screen is the largest of the three, as it measures 5.8 inches diagonally from the 4.7 inches of the iPhone 8 and the 5.5 inches of the iPhone 8 Plus.
The iPhone X also features a uniquely shaped OLED display, a lighting technology that produces a vividly lifelike and realistic feature. This gives the iPhone X screen a contrast ratio of 1,000,000 to 1.
Finally, the screen of the iPhone X is compatible with HDR (high dynamic range), that is, the movies and videos that you see will be greatly superior in quality to those of the iPhone 8. In summary, the screen makes the difference.
The camera
The front camera of the iPhone X cannot be defeated. It’s what Apple refers to as the first “TrueDepth” camera, and it has a long list of exclusive features. The most notable are “vertical mode”, which allows a user to take portraits that look better than most shots made with any other device.
With a touch of a finger, the TrueDepth camera module sharpens your face and blurs the background, placing the focus squarely on the subject of the portrait.
The characteristic portrait lighting mode also allows you to apply several sophisticated filters to your portraits, including “studio light”, which illuminates your face, “contour light” that adds dramatic shadows. Selfies have never looked better.
And while the rear cameras of the iPhone 8 both include optical image stabilization, the iPhone X has dual optical image stabilization, meaning its two rear cameras will stabilize. In short, all this means that the photos and videos taken on the iPhone X will be softer and less blurry than any other phone.
Face ID
One of the most anticipated and controversial features of Apple, the Face ID, makes its debut on the iPhone X. It uses a combination of the iPhone X’s infrared camera, flood illuminator, and a spot projector (which are embedded in the notch, on the top of the phone) to recognize your face.
The advanced camera of the iPhone X is capable of projecting and analyzing more than 30,000 points to create an accurate map of the face. According to Apple, Face ID has a 1 in 1,000,000 false acceptance rate (identify someone other than you) compared to 1 in 50,000 Touch.ID.
The Face ID is also compatible with Apple Pay. This should save time by doing very basic tasks on the phone.
Animoji
Okay, so this is where the iPhone X really stands out. Animoji is very much adorable, and they imitate your facial expressions to a very precise degree.
Although they look child’s play, animoji are actually quite complicated to build and require the phone’s camera to track more than 50 movements of the muscles of your face. It goes without saying that these animals are exclusive to the iPhone X.
Design
Unlike the iPhone 8, which is made of glass and aluminum, the iPhone X is made of glass and stainless steel.
The iPhone X is reinforced with a stainless steel band, which states that Apple makes it more durable. All three of the newly released models, however, are covered on both sides with the same Gorilla Glass (a brand of hardened glass manufactured by Corning).
Battery duration
The three models of new iPhones charge at the same speed, and the support of the Qi certification of wireless charging is a relief. The battery of the iPhone X, however, lasts much longer than the iPhone 8, according to Apple.
The iPhone 8 and iPhone 8 Plus is in the iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus levels (up to 14 and 21 hours of talk time, respectively). The iPhone X that lasts almost as much as an iPhone 8 Plus (21 hours).
summarizing
The iPhone X has a better screen and better camera than any other phone, and it also comes with spooky animals that mimic your facial expressions. If this extra value of more than 300 euros is really short for you that will be worth it, then this is the smartphone you need.
