Asus ZenFone Ares which has been launched at an event in Taiwan. The smartphone has inbuilt sound sensor of SonicMaster 3.0 Hi-Res Audio 384 kHz audio decoder and supports DTS Headphone with 7.1 channel support.

The smartphone has already up for pre order on the online platforms. The online listing features the handset along with its price of TWD 9,990 which is roughly Rs 23000 in Indian currency. Furthermore, the handset will be available for purchase across all local retailers in the country
Operating System and Display
The dual-SIM (Nano) Asus ZenFone Ares runs on the Android version 8.0 Nougat out of the box with ZenUI on top and features a 5.7-inch QHD (1440×2560 pixels) Super AMOLED display with a standard 16:9 aspect ratio.
Processor
The smartphone is powered and supported by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 821 SoC, coupled with 8GB of RAM.
Photography department
The smartphone bears a 23-megapixel camera sensor on the back panel with Asus’ high-res PixelMaster 3.0 technology on top and an f/2.0 aperture. The camera has also come with some of the latest features which includes capturing motion tracking and depth sensing to enable AR effects out of the box. On the front, there is an 8-megapixel sensor with an f/2.0 aperture.
Storage
The Asus ZenFone Ares has 128GB of inbuilt onboard UFS 2.0 storage which can further be extended via microSD card of up to 2TB. The smartphone has 4G LTE, Wi-Fi 802.11ac, Bluetooth v4.2, GPS/ A-GPS, USB Type-C, and a 3.5mm headphone jack. There is also a fingerprint sensor embedded under the home button.
Battery
Apart from this, the smartphone packs with a battery capacity of 3300mAh which is non removable one that supports Qualcomm’s Quick Charge 3.0.
Conclusion
The smartphone just lacks the dual camera setup on the rear. Overall the smartphone is good.
